I have used the HP Pen Control app to switch my HP Pen's default settings so that the bottom button is disabled and only the top button works (set to erase). I click "Apply" then close out the app. This change in settings lasts for a few minutes of use, but the settings eventually revert back to default on their own. When I go back in to the HP Pen Control app, it still shows my modified settings, even though it's the default settings that are actually in effect at that time.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Did this happen after a recent window or software update?

Try uninstalling the HP Pen Control App and re-install it from Microsoft Store from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/hp-pen-control/9pj3vgvq4nmp?activetab=pivot:regionofsystemrequirem...

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for your reply.

I had not made any recent software updates.

I did, though, uninstall the HP Pen Control App as you recommended. Unfortunately, when I click on the link you provided to re-install the app, I am told that this app is not compatible with my device (so I am prevented from downloading it).

What do I do now?

@drans
Let's try this once again Firstly, Uninstall the HP pen control app and then Update system software and then Restart your computer before reinstalling HP Pen Control App: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05478395

Download the HP Pen control app from the Microsoft Store.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Microsoft Store.
  2. In Microsoft Store, search for and open HP Pen Control.
  3. Click Get, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open the HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Keep me posted!
