Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 (76T54AV)

I’m having a problem with my Victus by HP Gaming Laptop. The built-in keyboard and screen are not working. The laptop powers on, and it works fine when I connect an external monitor and keyboard, but the internal screen and keyboard have no power. Sometimes the internal screen and keyboard turn on briefly, but then they start flickering and stop working again.

Does anyone know what I can do to solve this issue?

Also, I’m not able to find an authorized HP service center in my city (São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil), and the laptop is no longer under warranty.

Can anyone help me find where I can take it for authorized support?

@FR49, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Troubleshooting the Internal Screen and Keyboard

Since the laptop works fine with an external monitor and keyboard, we can rule out the motherboard and GPU as the issue. Here are a few steps you can try to fix the internal screen and keyboard:

Update Drivers:

Try booting up your laptop with an external keyboard and monitor, and check if the keyboard or display driver needs updating. You can do this by going into Device Manager and seeing if there are any yellow exclamation marks next to your display or keyboard.

Perform a Hard Reset:

Power off the laptop, unplug it from any external devices, and remove the battery (if removable). Hold the power button down for 15-30 seconds to drain any residual power. Then, plug everything back in and try to power it on again.

Check the Display Settings:

Sometimes the display might be set to "external monitor" by default. To check this, when connected to the external monitor, go to Display Settings (right-click on the desktop → Display Settings) and make sure the laptop screen is selected.

Try Safe Mode:

You can try booting the laptop into Safe Mode (press esc during startup) to see if the problem persists with minimal drivers running. If it works fine in Safe Mode, it's likely a software or driver conflict.

Also, you can reach out to the nearest HP Authorised service center for personalized assistance. They can provide one-on-one help to fix the problem.

Note: There might be a nominal charge for the service they provide.

I have exactly the same problem on the same PC, it started very recently like yours. When the PC starts, the screen and keyboard flash. Then the screen and keyboard no longer work, I can connect a keyboard and a screen via USB via HDMI, it works but the laptop part no longer responds. Then it is possible that after a while the keyboard and screen of the laptop work again, and there is no more problem until I turn off the computer again. But now I can't start the computer anymore. Did you find a solution?

I found the solution, This is the sensor that detects whether the PC is closed or open. I unplugged it (of course I have the impression that we can't plug it in anymore, thanks HP...) And now the PC starts without any problem. This is the tab above the RAM and heat sinks. You can find a photo on this post :
