Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!
HP Recommended

Hi, My Victus has a screen problem. After some troubleshooting I saw that it fails the hp cpu stress test. The screen goes black on this test and it shows back to login page. The problem still continues after the test. As my computer is almost new, only a year and a half and not on the warranty anymore, I am very disappointed in HP products. I will try to make it repaired, but not by HP because they failed me too much on that one. [edited]

Hi @HaoInka,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your HP Victus notebook. Screen problems and failed CPU stress tests can be frustrating, especially when your device is no longer under warranty. Here are a few steps you might consider to address the problem:

Resetting the Device: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve the issue. Power down the device completely, disconnect any peripherals, and perform a hard reset.

Driver Updates: Ensure that all your device drivers, especially the graphics and CPU drivers, are up to date. You can find the latest drivers on https://support.hp.com/us-en.

BIOS Update: Check if your BIOS is up to date. Sometimes, a BIOS update can fix hardware compatibility issues https://support.hp.com/us-en.

External Monitor Test: Connect your laptop to an external monitor to see if the problem persists. If the external monitor works fine, the issue might be with the laptop's display hardware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
