Upgrade from w7 64 bit to w10 pro 64 bit. not picking up my tv on HDMI. monitor driver generic pnp ,monitor

Hi:

 

All notebooks have generic PnP monitors.

 

You need the graphics driver.

 

There are no W10 drivers for the graphics, so you will have to manually install the W7 graphics driver from your notebook's support page.

 

I can help you with that if you let me know what model graphics adapter your notebook comes with, or post the hardware ID for the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter device, which can be found under the Display Adapters device manager category.

 

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device.
