Webcam does not work - light is on but screen is black

Product: 15-dy1751ms
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am unable to get my webcam to work in any program.

I have tried to restart, update the drivers, update windows, update the firmware, set permissions, etc...

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the webcam a couple of times.

 

The webcam light turns on but it does not display any picture.

This laptop is only 6 mos old but the HP support program is telling me that the warranty is expired.

I also re-registered the computer on HP's website in an attempt to update the warranty status accurately.

 

I am at a loss at what to do next.  In our current pandemic status, I really need a working webcam.

What else can I try?
