So you are suggesting the only stylus that will work is another model chromebook?

Not helpful at all.

It is a capacitive screen is it not?

Thank you for posting back.

To get the answer to this question, Yes! this HP Chromebook x360 11G1 goes with Capacitive touch gestures, touchscreens can only be touched with a finger, and will not respond to touches with a regular stylus,  A passive stylus (also known as a capacitive stylus) functions the same as your finger on the screen. Passive styluses do not require batteries, and they work on any touchscreen device. While the non-HP branded passive stylus is not supported by HP, most will work with HP touchscreen computers and tablets.

Does the hp chromebook 14-da0011dx 2 in 1 touchscreen support an active stylus? Or can you only use a capacitor stylus?

Thank you for posting back.

To get the answer to this question, The active stylus will not work on this HPChromebook 14-da0011dx 2 in 1 touchscreen notebook. A capacitive stylus functions the same as your finger on the screen.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
