black screen after initialisation

Product Name: HP Notebook - 15-ac106na (ENERGY STAR)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

a couple of weeks ago my laptop updated. Since then I have had a black screen after switching on and initialising. At first I have the HP logo and a spinning circle timer, then the screen goes blank. The mouse arrow is still present when I touch the touchpad . 

I have tried a power reset and bios reset but have had no joy. I have also connected to a tv via hdmi and cannot view the screen . 

 

Any my ideas as I am really stuck as to what to do next?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the screen goes black after login.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

 

I recommend you follow the below steps to fix this issue.

  1. Boot the PC
  2. Wait 15-20 minutes for the boot process to complete and for the desktop to load
  3. Once on desktop, Download and install HP Image Enhancement for System Logon - http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81501-82000/sp81965.exe
  4. Restart the computer and check.
