You may try the specific vesion of graphics driver (info below) :

Driver File Version: 27.20.14044.0002 (English)

Driver that may show the issue :

27.20.21020.7001

Since Windows Update Catalogue started pushing newer (and problem inducing) version, we may luck out of getting the driver. I am seeing this issue again with the automatic update, too.

The graphics drivers that come along with AMD Radeon Software are prone to the issue since the beginning of this product launch. I strongly urge that HP should contact AMD for this matter soon.

** edit : corrected the driver version.

you may try this (clean installing the latest graphics driver from HP support) :

1. use Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU) to remove the current driver. DDU program download link below.

https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

2. install the latest AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver from hp support. (hp support page link below.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-aero-13.3-inch-laptop-pc-13-be0000/2100...

sp113535.exe

3 (optional : you may want to block Automatic driver update from Windows Update Catalogue. It may install a driver may reintroduce the issue. ) : Follow the steps by the group policy way. link below.

* If you really hate the issue, you can skip installing the AMD graphics HD driver (after removing the existing one) then stick with Microsoft default driver. I do not recommend it due to the limitaton and lack of supports (HW acceleration, etc) but in case you may really want the flickering gone.

HP Recommended

If you still experience the flickering with a HP graphics driver, you may try the latest driver directly released from AMD. The very same method (using Display Driver Uninstaller), but install one from the link below.

*beaware : AMD recommends the drives from laptop Manufacturers in 'normal' circumstances.

For me, it was the last resort and flickering seems finally gone.

Same issues for me on Aero 13 Ryzen 7, this is un-acceptable.

One query though, is the BIOS firmware up-to date for everyone facing this issue ? I have an update pending but not taking it as last time after BIOS update I was facing random re-boot issue. So had to reset my machine to fix the problem.

HP Recommended

In my case, BIOS version was irrelevant to the issue.

The only 'permanent' solution consists two steps : 1) complete clean install of a AMD Radeon graphics driver [not from HP] with Display Driver Uninstaller. 2) blocking automatic driver update from Windows Update.

I did the same steps as you told uninstalling using ddu and installing latest driver from amd website. I didn't faced issue till then its been like 2 days.. will update you if it happens again.. thnx

Just let me know if this solution works because I am facing the same issue in the same laptop. Thanks.

Its been 4 days .. not seen a problem.. i think its fixed

Good to know you got it fixed.

I would like to add (actually repeat) one more thing : Make sure you disable the driver update feature from Windows Update. Drives in the Windows Update Catalogue always have a chance to revive the issue again for the moment. The very first symptom of this replacement could be like this-' AMD Software Adrenaline Edition' (the control panel for AMD graphics) may stop working saying you need to reinstall the driver.
