camera becomes streaky with purple tint

Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The camera has failed twice in the last two weeks. The first time a hard reset helped. Now it became streaky, shows only a small portion of the picture, and in purple tinted.

Any change that you performed recently, any updates ?

No recent updates.

This happened once and I did a hard reset and it resolved temporarily.

The purple streaks/loss of camera happened again and I reinstalled the driver. It resolved temporarily.

It recurred again.

Please give specific instructions to fix this. Do not just refer me to a webpage.
