Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I use a USB-C to display port cable to connect my laptop (via USB-C) to the monitor (via display port), and the screen went blank. I did set the monitor input to be displayport. Can somebody help? Thanks.

Regarding your questions:

(1) yes, it is my first time to set up a USB-C display setting.

Thank you for posting back.

After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi

Thanks for your information.

You mention "data transfer only". Does that mean this USB-C port won't provide the signal video output, and therefore can not used to connect with a monitor?

Hi I just do some research in the internet and find out that USB 3.2 Type-C gen 1 can provide the video support.

So I suspect this port in my laptop s dysfunctional.  Is there an easy way to test it, something like connecting with an external hard drivers to do a test? My warranty will be expired next month, so I would like to send it back for a repair if needed. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

To get the answer to this question, the USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 port on your computer will not output video signal it's only for high speed data transfer.
