@Ashu9881, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
This issue with your OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop, frequent screen blackouts and freezes increasing in duration, strongly points to a graphics driver, power management, or thermal-related issue.
Recommended Troubleshooting Steps:
- Roll Back or Reinstall Graphics Driver
- Open Device Manager → Display adapters → Right-click your NVIDIA GPU (or Intel iGPU).
- Click "Properties" → "Driver" tab → Click "Roll Back Driver" if the option is available.
If not, proceed to reinstall the driver: - Uninstall the driver (select Delete the driver software if prompted).
- Go to the official HP OMEN 16-wf0000 support page and download the latest approved NVIDIA and Intel Graphics drivers for your model.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
- Shut down your laptop.
- Press ESC repeatedly while powering it on → Enter Startup Menu.
- Press F2 → Select System Tests > Run extensive tests, especially Memory and GPU tests.
Check for Overheating
Overheating often causes freezing and black screens. Download OMEN Gaming Hub or HWMonitor:
- Check if CPU or GPU is going above 90°C during normal use.
- Clean fans and vents. Use your laptop on a flat surface with good ventilation.
- Optional: Apply new thermal paste (if you're comfortable opening it).
Power & Performance Settings
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
- Set to High performance or Ultimate Performance (enable via command prompt if missing).
- Under Advanced Settings, disable PCI Express > Link State Power Management.
BIOS & Firmware
- Go to HP driver page again.
- Update to the latest BIOS.
- Make sure the laptop is fully charged and connected to power.
- Do not interrupt the BIOS update.
Event Viewer Logs
Check if a recurring driver or application is causing the freezes:
- Press Win + X → Event Viewer.
- Check under Windows Logs > System for critical or error logs around the time of each blackout.
If the Problem Started After a March 2025 Update
You can roll back the update:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History > Uninstall Updates.
- Look for any updates from late March 2025, especially graphics or cumulative Windows updates.
- Uninstall them, then test the system.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
