i cant find any valid video driver for my Hp compaq 6820s for windows 7 64bit.
i Think its equipped with an ati x1350, wich is totally absent from amd website, hp does not provide win 7 driver and vista ones does not work.
they install but i can't find any control panel and the screen resolution is always wrong, absolutely no changes.
no way either with automatic detection tools from amd, they simply don't recognize the hardware.
tried mobility modder but still no control panel.
i don't really know what to do, if someone could help me i would be very glad.
thank you very much.

If you want to use W7 64 bit, you are going to have to mod a desktop driver using the mod tool at the link below.
Read all of the instructions carefully.
Do not use the latest ati driver. Use the vista 64 bit driver at the link below -- version 8.9 or so.
...and before you go thru the effort above, did you try updating the video driver from the device by being connected to the internet, and clicking on the update driver tab from the video controller in the device manager and selecting the automatic update method?
If nothing works, bite the bullet and install W7 32 bit, and use the Vista driver from your PC's support and driver page.

You're very welcome.
I figured it out because someone on another forum used the mod tool on their 6820s W7 x 64 and the driver crashed.
One has to assume that they used a driver that normally would not have been listed as supported for the x1350-and that would be one of the newer ones.
I just took a guess on what version you should use based on the relative age of the video adapter.
It's good you were able to go a couple versions newer.
You can also install 8 GB of memory (2 x 4 GB) in your machine, if you are so inclined.
Unfortunately, PC2-6400 4 GB memory modules are relatively expensive nowadays.
