HP 14-dk1000 Laptop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to get dual monitors working on this laptop (and not duplicating them) extending so different items can be displayed on both monitors, using the HDMI port for one monitor now, but really need 2 to be productive, but need to know if the USB-C port supports video to support a second monitor.

(DP Alt) appears to be required on USB-C port to allow multiple monitors, so does the USB-C port on this laptop support this?

What is your HP 14-dk1000 ? It should have same ports as the following machine

               HP Laptop - 14-dk1003dx

Its USB-C port does not support Alt mode, you can't use USB-C port for a second monitor. If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable

Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                https://www.amazon.com.au/CableCreation-Adapter-Windows-Compatible-2560x1440/dp/B013G4CJM8

For more connectivity, please use

                        True Universal Docking Stations

Regards.

my HP 14-dk1000 laptop only has a USB-C and memory card slot on one side and 2 USB, 1 HDMI, Ethernet, and power ports on it.  So I don't see how a second monitor can be put into a display port, if there is not one....
