My laptop is connected by an HDMI cable to an external monitor. However, I am unable to project the display to the external monitor. The monitor is not found in device manager, the HDMI port of the laptop does not appear in playback devices, here is no display adapter found that refers to HDMI. I tried installing an NVIDIA graphics driver this did not work. Is there a reason that a laptop manufacturer would make a laptop with an HDMI port but not include the necessary driver for it to function at the time of build? IT seems incomprehensible to me. How can I fix the issue to use the HDMI port and thus the external monitor that I have.

Matt
