laptop electrical problem

15-ayo41WM
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My battery will charge, however when my computer seems to only be running off the battery. The battery gets low, even if it is plugged in, I then have to turn computer off to let the battery charge.  It is a laptop touch screen.   Any suggestion on what to do?

laptop electrical problem

@loisr79 Welcome to HP Forums Community!

here's what I recommend (perform steps exactly as prescribed to resolve the issue)

  • Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
  • Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
  • Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
  • Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

If the issue persists, please click here for steps on testing and calibrating the battery, once done, please get back to us with the results.

Let me know how that pans out,
