HP Pavilion x360 - 15-cr0010nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The HP Pavillon x360 screen is broken and has a totally black screen.  Looking to get the files off from the laptop if possible.  Would I be able to hook it up to another monitor or computer to then download the files?   I have tried connecting a Clickfree automatic backup device to it bet could not retrieve any information.  I also tried hooking it up to another computer which looked like it might work but then it was asking for the login and password for the laptop which the owner my sister in law did not have and We could not reset the password as there was no other way to change it without that information.  Any thoughts would be great.

Hi @palluss,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing hardware with your HP Pavilion X360 - 15-Cr0010nr. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

The PC needs to be sent to HP Service Centre to get it repaired, HP does not have an option to reset the password as it usually would be linked to Microsoft. You will be able to reset the password and then log in to take a backup of your files. Please contact Microsoft for support on that.

I'm sending out a private message to assist you with the next course of action regarding the PC repair process.

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
