my HDMI port is not working, my laptop doesn't even recognize that there is a cable connected, I've tried activating it from the sound option (playback....) but it doesn't even show it, what should I do?

@TYFE_SAI

On laptops that have a single HDMI port, that is OUTPUT only.  Are you trying to read from it?

Hi@TYFE_SAI, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums.  Before you went after drivers and BIOS did you test the HDMI cable on other devices?

Did you try other HDMI Displays on your notebook?

If you have done all that and have already updated your drivers and BIOS.  Check out this link.

Troubleshooting HDMI Display and Sound Issues

If you are not able to find a fix from that link and you have tried alternate HDMI cables and have the same problem with other HDMI displays please contact HP phone support for repair options.
