Hi @mistere1119,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're experiencing with your HP Spectre x360 model 13t-aw100 where the screen blinks on and off rapidly upon bootup can be quite frustrating. Given that you've already updated drivers and the BIOS, and that restarting temporarily resolves the issue, here are some additional steps you might consider to troubleshoot and possibly fix the problem:

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows 11 is up to date. Microsoft frequently releases updates that can fix bugs and improve system stability.

Display Driver Reinstallation: Even though you've updated drivers, it might be helpful to completely uninstall and then reinstall the display driver. Sometimes, driver updates do not overwrite problematic files. Use the Device Manager to uninstall the display driver, then download and install the latest version from the HP support website or through Windows Update. Click Here

Hardware Diagnostics: Run HP's hardware diagnostics to check if there's a hardware issue with the display. Upon starting the laptop, press the F2 key to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI. Then, run the System Tests, specifically the Component Test for the display. This can help determine if there's a hardware issue at play.

Adjust Power Settings: Sometimes, power settings can cause issues with the display. Adjust your power settings to see if a different configuration helps. For instance, disabling adaptive brightness or changing the plan settings might make a difference.

Check for External Display Issues: If you have an external display connected, try disconnecting it to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, external displays can cause conflicts, especially if there's an issue with the drivers or connection.

System Restore: If the issue started recently, you could try using System Restore to roll back your system to a point before the problem began. This can undo recent changes that might be causing the issue. https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_2026000-1498532-16

Safe Mode: Boot Windows in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If the problem doesn't occur in Safe Mode, it's likely related to software or drivers loaded at startup. You can then systematically enable/disable services and startup items to identify the culprit.

Press the f4 key for Enable Safe Mode. Safe Mode starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services. Press the f5 key for Enable Safe Mode with Networking. Safe Mode with Networking starts Windows in Safe Mode and allows access to the internet and to your network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
