my daughter has stood on her new laptop and broke the screen and i cant find a replacement any ideas on how to find a replacement

Display Assembly replacement procedures begin here (Should link you to page 74) but it seems like a relatively tough job.

 

Please note that any damage incurred through the normal usage or upgrade process of a user will most likely not be covered under HP's standard manufacturing warranty unless an additional ADP (Accidental Damage Protection) plan was purchased.
