Not seeing what it looks like with a refresh rate of 40. You should not need to adjust the refresh rate on a laptop screen. 60 hz is standard. Not like a tube monitor. From the looks of the picture you did post you have a bad screen which needs to be replaced. Have you tried an external monitor? If output looks OK I an sure the screen panel has gone bad. If it looks bad on an external monitor the problem is worse.

Hello Huffer,

I adjusted the refresh rate on the laptop screen to see if the drivers have some problem.

I tried connecting the external monitor to the laptop and i could see the display normal and clear on external monitor.

I was just using the laptop for casul surfing and suddenly the screen started showing those weird colors.

Can you please help as to what must have gone wrong making the screen bad suddenly without any external damage or impact ?

Thanks and Regards,

Nik

I have no idea why or how. Electronics is prone to sudden failure. It's why we back up data. All I know is the screen is bad and needs replacement.
