I have a HP laptop 15-DY1023DX that was updated to Windows 11that for the past several months when I start it up the screen flickers. It is a touch screen so I have to touch it to find the restart button. After restarting, it no longer flickers until I shut it down and then start up fresh again. I have looked online for all the fixes and thought I had it fixed, but it is still doing it. What is the fix for this please?
Thank you

Hello @justame81
(1) Download and install BIOS Update

Why should you install the update ? https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4123786-2338478-16 Quote: " Updating the BIOS is recommended as standard maintenance of the computer. It can also help resolve the following issues:

I downloaded the Bios update as instructed. Was I to click on the .exe? or just restart the laptop? When I restart the laptop, I have no issues with the flickering screen. If I shut down the laptop for the day and then start it up again, this is when the flickering starts. I then have to try to keep touching the screen to find the restart. Once restarted, it no longer flickers. I want to be able to start the laptop once and not have to restart it to work.

Yes, you need to (double) click the .exe file

ok, did that and when I restart it, it does not flicker. BUT when I hit shut down and use the power button to start up again, it is still flickering and again I have to keep touching the screen to find the restart button. Once restarted it stops flickering. Why on restart it is fine but not after a shut down and start with the power button?

Before I received this email, I again uninstalled my display adapter that was in there. When I restarted it, it now shows Microsoft Basic Display adapter and now when I shut down and start with start button, it no longer flickers. I am not sure if I should try the one you suggest Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver or just leave it alone as it seems to be working now
