switchable graphics card

hp pavilion dv6t 6100
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

my graphics card does not switch automatically when i play games and occured when i upgraded my os to windows 8.1 pro

Don't expect anyone would answer you, at least from the ultimate HP support. You're on your own.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but HP does not supply any drivers newer than Win7 for your PC.  Since it uses switchable graphics, the ONLY drivers that will work properly are those from HP, and without those drivers, you won't be able to use the PC to its full potential.

 

Basically, you should have checked BEFORE you did the update, and the only way to get full functionality back will be to revert your PC back to Win7.

switchable graphics card

already formatted it a while ago and it worked. i can play dota 2 at 120fps
but due to several virus entering my laptop,
i have decided to reformat it again and have already forgotten what method i used to activate the switchable graphics option.
