thunderbolt port on my laptop isnt supporting display signal

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hello i have a HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14   

and i have connected one monitor through the provided HDMI port 

there is another thunderbolt port in my laptop and although when i connect my display to it, it wont even recognize it 

I'm using a thunderbolt to vga adaptor to convert the ports and connect my monitor 

 

 

someone please help me out I'm not sure what to do 

I need to use both the displays

That middle man is the culprit. You need a proper converter which is very expensive. It would be cheaper to buy a new monitor and totally ignore the middle man.
