touch screen stopped working and drivers for it are gone

after an update one day my touchscreen driver just disappeared? i cannot figure out how to download a new driver for the life of me and every Microsoft help associate tells me i just need to send the device in, and i cant redownload the drivers but the entire internet says otherwise. please tell me how to download the drivers.
