Hi @Sbirulla,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be an issue with either the touchpad drivers or the settings. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.
- Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary issues.
- Check Touchpad Settings: Go to your laptop's settings and look for the touchpad settings. Ensure that the dragging or scrolling options are enabled. You can usually find these settings under "Mouse and Touchpad" or similar in your system settings.
- Update Touchpad Drivers: Outdated or corrupted touchpad drivers can cause issues. Go to the HP website or use Windows Update to check for and install any available updates for your touchpad drivers.
- Roll Back Touchpad Drivers: If you recently updated your touchpad drivers and the issue started after that, you can try rolling back to the previous version. Go to Device Manager, find your touchpad device, right-click, and select "Properties." Then, go to the "Driver" tab and select "Roll Back Driver" if it's available.
- Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware problem with your touchpad.
- External Mouse: As a temporary solution, you can use an external mouse connected to one of the USB ports on your laptop until the touchpad issue is resolved.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
