Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

15-dy1079ms

this is model number of my laptop. I am using usb-c to connect a hub so I can connect two monitors. Laptop does not read the hub.  What type of USB-C do i have and what type of hub should I look for. I only need it for two monitors.

I bought 3 and all 3 dont work.

Below are two examples that did not work. Can you give a model that will work or tell me the type of USB-c my laptop has?

@janwar

Its specs

           https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06956743

It ONLY has 1  USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect to 2 external monitors, you have to use DisplayLink Certified USB-A to HDMI (or DVI or DP ...) adapter.  You can also use a dock to connect to more external devices:
