Hi @Prince128
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Vertical lines on your HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 screen could indicate a hardware or software issue.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
1. Test with an External Monitor:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor using HDMI or another compatible cable.
- If the lines appear on the external monitor, the issue might be with the graphics card or driver. If they don't, the laptop screen itself could be faulty.
2. Update Graphics Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (press Win + X and select it).
- Expand Display Adapters and right-click on your graphics card (e.g., Intel Iris Xe).
- Select Update Driver and choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
3. Run Hardware Diagnostics:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc or F2 during startup to access HP's built-in diagnostics tool.
- Run a display test to check for hardware issues.
4. Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the screen for any visible damage or loose connections. If you're comfortable, you can open the laptop and check the display cable.
5. Reset Display Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Display and reset the resolution and scaling settings to default.
