@CLane5252, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing wireless connection issues between your laptop and HP monitor, try the following steps:
Check Monitor Compatibility
- Ensure that your HP monitor supports Miracast, the wireless display technology. Refer to the user manual or specifications to confirm if it has built-in wireless display capabilities.
Verify Network Connection
- Make sure both your laptop and monitor are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If your laptop is using Ethernet, switch it to Wi-Fi to match the monitor's connection.
Enable Wireless Display on Your Laptop
- Press Win + K to open the Wireless Display menu. If your monitor appears, attempt to connect. If it doesn't show up, you may need to install the Wireless Display feature:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Optional Features.
- Click Add a feature, search for Wireless Display, and install it.
- Restart your laptop and try connecting again.
Check Miracast Support on Your Laptop
- Press Win + R, type dxdiag, and hit Enter.
- Click Save All Information, open the saved file, and look for the Miracast entry. If it states Not Available, your laptop does not support Miracast natively.
Update Drivers
- Update your Wi-Fi and Graphics drivers:
- Open Device Manager (right-click Start > Device Manager) and update the drivers.
Connect Manually via Project Settings
- Navigate to Settings > System > Display.
- Click on Connect to a wireless display under the Multiple displays section. Select your HP monitor and follow the prompts.
Reset Wireless Display Settings
- On your monitor, look for settings related to Wi-Fi Direct or Miracast and reset them. Power cycle both devices by unplugging them for 30 seconds before trying again.
Consider Alternative Wireless Display Solutions
- If your monitor does not support Miracast, consider using a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter or a Google Chromecast to wirelessly extend your display.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
