Hi,

I have HP laptop Model 15ac179tx . Want to upgrade my wifi to latest ac band (5ghz).

Its single antena laptop as far as i know.

1. Please suggest which mini PCI card should i buy.

2. If your suggestion is dual antenna card which should be it. And share secondary antena installation video.(i cant find for my model)

Thx in advance...

Hi:

See this discussion...it will be a gamble to install any different wifi card in your notebook...

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/What-is-the-Maximum-of-RAM-SSD...

I have not heard back from the other forum members that have asked this question as to whether or not they installed the card I recommended and if it worked or not.

As far as adding a second antenna, that would be a complete waste of time, effort and money to install a second antenna if the only card I can think of that has any possibility of working, doesn't work in your notebook.
