Hi,

Can't seem to find in the rather thin documentation if this Laotop supports 5 GHZ Wifi, and if so how to enable it? It's brand new, but does not see the the  5 GHZ network as my other devices do. A search on the Realtek site yields no results for the chip at all.

HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC,

AMD A10-5745M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics

AMD Radeon(TM) HD 8610G

Realtek RTL 8723BE 802.11 B/G/N

Cheers,

Mick

Hi:

Any wireless card with the suffix B/G/N is a single band (2.4 GHz) card.

A dual band card has a suffix of a/b/g/n or a/g/n.

I'm sorry, but I simply find this unacceptable.  A computer that I paid nearly 700 dollars for just over a year ago cannot do something that a five year old machine, (that this replaced) CAN do?  Because of cost cutting?  Now, I have a high traffic area with 2.4 gHz interference wreaking havoc with my wifi signal and I have no recourse despite having a dual band router.  Every other device in my home will support 5 gHz but his machine won't?  I will SERIOUSLY reconsider buying HP in the future.
