686121-001 & KBRF57711 support and connect problem

HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have 2 hp notebooks .. i've tried setting up this wireless keyboard and mouse using the dongle..  the keyboard will not type is characters  I've replaced batteries in both devices (tested good batteries)    i've disconnected everything with keyboards and reloaded it.   it does not allow any characters to type  or it will start flashing up strange stuff when i type on the keys.   The mouse does seem to load and work correctly ..    I've tried this on 2 notebooks and get the same/similar issues.

this is an older wireless keyboard mouse and dongle,  is it still supported under windows 10 ?

Thanks for any feedback

@TlcASM99

Did you buy them as a whole ONE set (keyboard and mouse). I'm using not 1 but 3 sets for Windows 7, Windows 10 machines, no problem, I have to mark set 1, set 2, set 3 ... we can't mix them up.

Regards.
