After the big Windows 10 update my wireless driver went to 21.10.1.2 an now no longer works.  When i try to connect i get to put in the network password and it says it is verifying and connecting for awhile then says it can't connect to the network.  When i get onto the router I don't see any activity if it even trying to connect in the logs.  I have done the  virtual agent help an none of it worked.  If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

A roll back to driver version 20.120.1.1 fixed the issue.  However I would still like to know why the most current driver doesn't work with my system.

@dougrich13 Welcome to HP Forums Community!

Updates are usually released by the manufacturer of the hardware component based on the changes made by the OS manufacturer, if a particular network card doesn't require any changes as such, the update released for the entire series doesn't apply to one particular model within the series, and it looks like your device didn't need that update as the older version is working fine.

If there are any modifications/updates required, the manufacturer would release another update in the future, and that could be installed, in case you have any issues that need to be sorted: Click here for the latest version of the network card

Notice under fixes, it has the details of what the new driver update is for:

- Fixes an issue where wireless networks cannot be found by the system which causes an error symbol (red x) to be displayed in the taskbar.

(If you don't have the above issue, you don't have to install this update).

Let me know how that pans out,
