My ancient laptop with intel centrino N6025 gives me stable ping without rarely dropping connection. My new HP Victus with Realtek RTL8852AE 802.11ax drops connection every 20 seconds. I have tried almost everything I can think of but can't get a stable ping to even google.com The ping to router is fine though and my connection is fine. Speedtest gives great speeds but packet loss is a pain in the butt. I am in 10m range of router, tried sitting next to router still the same. Tried both 2.4ghz and 5ghz channel. It works fine with ethernet but wifi connectivity sucks. Is the wifi card malfunctioning? Any fixes?

Hi:

Many forum members are having that problem with the Realtek Wi-Fi card.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the latest driver that HP has for that model Wi-Fi adapter if you have not done so already.   The driver is good for W10 and W11:

6001.10.353.0     12/22/2022

Fix and enhancements:

- Fixes an issue which causes a blue screen event to occur with error code 0x94. (RTL8852CE) - Fixes an issue that occurs when the access point is changed frequently which causes a blue screen event to occur with error code 0x7E. (RTL8852CE) - Fixes an issue where the system cannot connect to a hidden SSID. (RTL8852BE) - Fixes an issue where the system disconnects from an access point unexpectedly after the system resumes from a sleep or standby (S3) state. (RTL8852AE) - Fixes an issue where the module cannot transfer or received packets. (RTL8852AE) - Fixes an issue which causes the Wi-Fi connection drop unexpectedly. (RTL8822CE/RTL8821CE)
- Improves the performance of a Wi-Fi device connected to an 802.11ax access point. (RTL8852AE)
