DV-6135dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently decided to upgrad the WiFi adapter in my DV-76153dx from the 612BNXHMW to the 9385 (AR5B225). Upon installation I get the WLAN code 702 instructing me to remove the card and reboot. I have updated the BIOS to F.14 and reset the bios as well. If I install the card after the machine boots I can see the card and install the drivers, but I can't turn it on. Based on the maual this is a direct plug and play card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Error 702 means NO supported card. Your machine was built around 2011 and the latest BIOS is 1.B dated  Oct 31, 2011 therefore the chance to upgrade wifi card is none due to the whitelist.

There is a list of card supported on page 62 of the following manual

And you need to buy the RIGHT part number, not from retails.

Regards.

Thank you for the reply. I typed the number wrong in the original post, it is the 9485 which is listed at the top list the maual on page 62. That is where the confusion come in, I ordered a “compatible” card based on the maual but it’s not working. Does it have to be branded HP in order to work or are all of the 9485 cards created equal? Are you saying that I need to order one with the HP sticker and HP part number on it? This card should be the 655795-001 but does not have the "replace with HP part number XXX" on it.

@banhien

I ordered the HP replacement 655795-001 and it’s still giving me the same error. If I plug it in after it boots I have Bluetooth connectivity but no WiFi connectivity.
