Pavilion 570-p0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a device I'm trying to connect (a Bluetooth wireless keyboard) and I cannot get it to work. In the Bluetooth center I get a "Driver error" notification.

-I've tried updating BT drivers in Device manager.

-I've tried contacting keyboard company (they were no help and told me to contact Manufacturer for help. HP I guess?)

-Windows online support for this issue also punts the issue to "manufacturer"

-I've tried to manually download the latest drivers for the Intel Wireless Bluetooth (released Aug. 2019), but the installation is either not effective or it doesn't resolve my issue. I double checked that the drivers I downloaded (64 bit) were the correct ones.

-Windows 10 is up to date (version 1903)

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8.

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Next, uninstall Bluetooth device from device manager.

  1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Expand the entry. Right-click the Bluetooth and select Uninstall device.
  4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.
  5. Reboot the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for responding. I do not wish to hard reset the computer and wipe the memory. This is a work machine with important documentation in it.

Will there be any consequences I need to know about to restore the BIOS to default?

I've already tried uninstalling BT and re-installing drivers to no avail (but this was not with any BIOS changes). Does it matter if I do those first?

I also tried using the HP driver assistant tool from the web and that didn't work either.

Thank you for posting back.

BIOS default has no relation with Hard Drive data, hence performing hardest and BIOS restore will not erase your system data.
