HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Mac M1 has USB to MFP 277 and both are ethernet cabled to my router. Same room, my wife has 2015 Mac running  OS 12.1 also and she prints thru my Mac  M1 because I have "share network printer" on in OS prefs on Mac M1.  Because of speed issues, these 2 (ethernet connected) Macs have Wi-Fi off because they were slowed down deciding which medium (WiFi or ethernet) to use when browsing.(Apple support instructions and it worked.)   I also have a 21" screen 2012 Mac in basement that uses WiFi only with no access to ethernet. It cannot run 12.1.... too old...uses  Mohave 10.14.6.  My printing works and then doesn't work. My question is what is the best way for me to configure these 3 Macs& 277dw for the minimum hassle?  I downloaded HP Smart and I think I have the latest drivers on the 277dw.  I guess we could turn on WiFi temporarily in the 2 erthernet Macs to just Print nut would prefer not too for reason stated above.    Thanks   Jeff71743

Its specs

It does support 802.11 b/g/n – 2.4 GHz networks only therefore the best option is to connect it to your wifi network and you can share it with other devices in your house.

You can also use existing printer connection allow to print wirelessly from other devices

Printer is on your network now, other devices on the SAME network should be able to see it and you can add printer to your computers

Regards.
