HP ENVY - 15-as100na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Bluetooth stopped working on my laptop since yesterday.

Tried to restart and switch the laptop on and off and it's made no difference.

Checked the device manager and the bluetooth driver is missing from the list of available drivers.

How do I reinstall the driver so I can connect my bluetooth devices?

Hi @Dee2212,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the Bluetooth driver is missing from the Device Manager, it's likely that the driver has been corrupted or uninstalled. Here are some steps you can take to reinstall the Bluetooth driver on your HP ENVY - 15 laptop.

  1. Check for Hardware Issues: Before proceeding with driver reinstallation, make sure there are no hardware issues. Ensure that the Bluetooth module is properly connected to your laptop. If your laptop has a physical switch for Bluetooth, ensure it's turned on.

  2. Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve driver-related issues. Restart your laptop and see if the Bluetooth driver reappears in the Device Manager.

  3. Windows Update: Make sure your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, Windows updates can include driver updates. Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.

  4. Reinstall Bluetooth Driver: If the Bluetooth driver is still missing, you can reinstall it manually. Follow these steps:

    a. Open Device Manager by pressing Windows Key + X and selecting "Device Manager."

    b. Locate the "Bluetooth" category. If it's not there, look for any unidentified or unknown devices, as your Bluetooth might be listed there.

    c. Right-click on the missing or unidentified Bluetooth device and select "Update driver."

    d. Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software." If this doesn't work, you can try "Browse my computer for driver software" and then "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer."

    e. If the driver is still not found, you may need to download the driver from the HP website. Go to the HP support website, enter your laptop model, and download the Bluetooth driver. Install the downloaded driver.

  5. System Restore: If the issue started recently, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a previous state when Bluetooth was working.

  6. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings: Access your laptop's BIOS/UEFI settings and ensure that the Bluetooth functionality is enabled.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
