Envy Model 15t-j100
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Until recently I have had no need for Bluetooth, now I'd loke to use it with earphones. Everything seems to be "normal", but...

Intel Wireless Bluetooth, device working normally, driver up to date

MS Bluetooth Enumerator, device working normally, driver up tp date.

The green LED on F12 is on.

Searching for devices, the TaoTronics TT-BH07 is 'found'. This headset works with an MP3 Player, and iPhone 6s, but not with this laptop.

Where do I go from here???

Hey there! @David12228,

Are the Bluetooth drivers listed in device manager?

Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.

Many thanks for your comprehensive reply. Sorry I didn't respond sooner, we have an on-going medical problem that is not resolved yet. However, I have just taken a look at services.msc

All Bluetooth services are set to Automatic, all are started.

 In Control Panel seems to be 'normal', COM 3 is outgoing-TaoTronics. COM 4 is incoming, TaoTronics.

Bluetooth drivers are all shown as up to date.

This machine should have come with Win 8, but I didn't want it and ordered it with Win 7 SP1. I have told not top update the BIOS because of the OS chnge.

Someone suggested getting a Mini USB Adapter, might this be the way to go?

@David12228,

Thanks for responding. As the issue still persists after trying the steps.

Are you able to connect other Bluetooth devices to the PC?

If you are able to connect other Bluetooth devices to the PC. It should be an issue with the Bluetooth headset.

If you are unable to connect any Bluetooth devices to the PC. It is a hardware issue with the PC.

You need contact HP support for service options or you can purchase an external Bluetooth adapter and try connecting again.

Hope this helps!

Take Care! 🙂

The headset works wih my iPhone, and an MP3 player, so I'd say that is in the clear. So yes, I suppose it is the HP laptop that is the problem. I was hoping that there might be some setting that needed to be changed, or a driver perhaps, but is long out of warranty so not worth spending money on fixing. I'll try a bluetooth adapter.

Thanks for all the help,

@David12228,

Are you able to connect other Bluetooth devices to the same PC?

If you are unable to connect other Bluetooth devices to the PC. It is a hardware issue with the PC.

And buying an external Bluetooth adapter is much cheaper compared to buying a Bluetooth card for the PC.

Take Care! 🙂

No, I can't connect anything else using Bluetooth so I've sent for the USB adapter. The annoying thing is that the laptop Bluetooth card must have been defective from the day I bought it and could have been fixed under warranty, However, not a big deal and hopefully the adapter will fix the problem.

Thanks for your help.

@David12228,

As you are unable to connect other devices using the Bluetooth.

Certainly, it sounds like an issue with the Bluetooth card.

So the external Bluetooth adapter should solve the issue.

Take Care! 🙂
