Hi @HooksBM,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop's Bluetooth is not working, you can try the following troubleshooting steps.

Check if Bluetooth is enabled:

  • Press the "Windows" key and "I" simultaneously to open the Settings menu.
  • Go to "Devices" and then "Bluetooth & other devices."
  • Ensure that the Bluetooth switch is turned on.

Restart your laptop:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve many connectivity issues.

Function key or toggle switch:

  • Check if your laptop has a function key (like F3 or F12) with a Bluetooth symbol. Press the key with the "Fn" key to enable Bluetooth.
  • Some laptops also have a physical toggle switch for Bluetooth. Ensure it's in the ON position.

Device Manager:

  • Right-click on the "Start" button and select "Device Manager."
  • Locate "Bluetooth" in the list and expand it.
  • If you see any yellow exclamation mark or error symbol, there may be an issue with the Bluetooth driver.
  • Right-click on the Bluetooth device and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device" (then restart your laptop to reinstall the driver).

Check Bluetooth services:

  • Press "Windows" + "R" to open the Run dialog.
  • Type "services.msc" and press Enter.
  • Look for "Bluetooth Support Service." Right-click and select "Restart."

HP Support Assistant:

  • If your laptop came with HP Support Assistant, open it and check for updates. It might provide updates for your Bluetooth driver.

BIOS/UEFI Update:

  • Check HP's official website for any BIOS/UEFI updates for your laptop model. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve hardware-related issues.

System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently, you can use System Restore to revert your system to a point when Bluetooth was working.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure your operating system is up-to-date. Windows updates can include fixes for various issues.

Remember to back up important data before performing significant updates or changes to your system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
