Welcome to the HP Support Community.
What Wi-Fi cable are you referring to? Internal? Please elaborate.
If it's an external cable to the router, you can replace it, and then, try the steps from this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Wifi-not-working/m-p/6255387#M139297
Let me know if this helps.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Thanks!
Have a great day!

Steps from Page 9 should help you with that: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01851044
Could you send a picture of the cable you're referring to?
Thanks 🙂

Thank you for the picture it explains more than words,
To get the answer to this question, yes you can do this at your own discretion however HP does not recommend upgrading or downgrading hardware parts.
And, also this is mounted on the motherboard. If you have the correct ribbon cable it won't be a problem.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
Have a great day!
