Energy Star Notebook 15-f085wm
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have a Energy Star Notebook 15-f085wm, it can see neighbor's wi-fi but can't find my home wi-fi. I've used it other places and never had difficulty finding the wi-fi. My phone as well as another laptop in the house has no problem connecting to my wi-fi. I reinstalled the driver, etc. What should I do?

The specs of your machine is

         https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04484950

It only has  1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN adapter which supports 2.4GHz networks. It can not see 5.0GHz networks. The quick way to fix it is to allow your wifi router to broadcast both (dual) bands which are 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz.

Your machine will "see" 2.4GHz and you can connect to this network.

Regards.

So, I set up a secondary WiFi network at 2.4GHz, the modem test shows it's applied/running properly. I now have both 5 and 2.4, I can see both options from other devices in the house but the laptop still isn't finding the network at either bandwidth. It still shows the neighbor's networks but neither of mine.
