I am helping a friend and two weeks ago all was well and now she can't connect to any wireless network.  I verified it myself and couldn't connect to my star link.  I can see all the networks but just can't connect.  It will say connecting then just can't connect to this network.  I tried different ones and even my phones hotspot.  I tried deleting the adapter from device manager and rebooting multiple times.  I also deleted the adapter from networking and had to use a USB stick to reinstall the driver with the latest.  I reset the adapter.  Rebooted countless times.  I think there is a transmit error but I installed the hp hardware diagnostics and the they all pass until I get to the wireless module test and I can't get the system to connect from there as well.  I am guessing the adapter card is bad and it can RX but not TX.  I don't see anything in event viewer.  Device manager is normal.  I installed wireshark and I don't see anything in there.  I tried to find a USB wifi adapter to day but they are hard to come by and that is my next step but I would like to rule out that the adapter is indeed bad.  It is the realtek RTL8852AE Wifie 6 802.11ax PCIe Adapter.  She regrets buying an HP now and I still think they are a solid choice.  Just trying to confirm the card is bad or not.  If I had my tools here I would try to open it up and reseat it  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks,Kevin

Hi @gotvoi,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing connectivity issues with your wireless network. Here are a few potential solutions that might help resolve the problem:

Check Network Settings: Ensure that the wireless network settings match those of your Starlink network. Double-check the SSID and password.

Driver Update: It appears that you've already updated the drivers. Ensure that you have installed the latest drivers for your wireless adapter from the manufacturer's website or via Official HP® Support pages if you are using an HP device.

Check Connectivity with Other Devices: If other devices are able to connect to the same network without problems, the issue might be specific to your device.

Network Frequency Bands: If your device supports dual-band, try connecting to a different frequency (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) to see if it improves connectivity.

Wireless Adapter Settings:

  • Check the power management settings of your wireless adapter. Ensure that the system does not power it off to save power.
  • Disable any power-saving features on your wireless adapter.

Router/Modem Settings: Ensure your router or modem firmware is up to date. Sometimes, network connectivity issues are related to your router or modem configuration.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
