HP 250 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hello everyone
my hp 250 g3 notebook does not connect to wifi and there is no wifi card in the device management network cards.
I disassembled the notebook and the card is burnt out.
Is it possible to replace the original card "Ralink RT3290" with another model?
Could there be bios compatibility issues?
What models do you suggest?
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Hi:

I see plenty of them for sale on the US eBay site.

Hi:

If your notebook has two wifi antenna cables connected to the Ralink wifi card, you should be able to upgrade to either of these models...

Dual band AC:

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo HP part #724935-001

Dual Band N:

Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo  HP part # 730668-001

You should be able to find either card on eBay, maybe Amazon too.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Below is the link to the service manual...

Hi @Paul_Tikkanen
and thanks for the reply

my notebook only has one wi-fi cable

this means that I cannot use dualband cards

from the manual I read that I could use in addition to a new one

- Ralink RT3290LE 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter part #690020-001

or

- Realtek RT8723BE 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter part #753077-001

- Atheros AR9565 802.11bgn + Bluetooth 4.0 Wi-Fi Adapter part #733476-001

or cards without bluetooth

- Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter part #709848-001

- Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi Adapter part #675794-001

Are these all wi-fi cards compatible with my notebook?

Thanks again for the availability

You're very welcome.

Yes, unfortunately, you are stuck with a single band wifi card.

I would get the Realtek RT8723BE 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter part #753077-001

That is because it is the only wifi card that was really designed to work with only one antenna cable.

If you look at the picture of that part number, there is only one terminal to connect the antenna cable to.

All the other models have two.752601-001 HP WLAN Card 753077-001

I searched on ebay and amazon, but did not find any of the 3 cards
- 690020-001
- 753077-001
- 733476-001

can you suggest me an hp spare parts site where they are available?

Thanks again
