Would like to change out the card for a dual band card. I'm running 5 GGZ in my house and the 2.4GHZ is having stopping issues.

I know the card that Intel made is discontinued. Are there alternate cards available?

Thanks for the help

Hi:

Upgrading to a dual band wifi card would depend on how many antenna wires are connected to the card currently installed in your notebook now.

If it only has one antenna wire, then the dual band card will not work to its potential.  Most likely the Bluetooth won't work, or there will be signal degradation, or both.

If your notebook has two wifi antenna cables attached to the card in there now, you can upgrade to this dual band wifi card with bluetooth.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

You can find this card on eBay by searching by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

This card has also been discontinued, but does have driver support through 2019.

You can install the card with one antenna, but don't expect it to work as it should.

Below is the link to the service manual.
