Hi @fredk3999,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Here’s how to connect your HP DeskJet 4152e printer to a Chromebook:

Step 1: Make Sure the Printer Is Ready

  • Plug in and power on the printer.
  • Ensure it’s connected to Wi-Fi (the blue wireless light should be solid).
  • If not connected:
    • On printer: Press Wireless buttonSetup → follow prompts to join your Wi-Fi network.

Step 2: Update Chromebook

  • On your Chromebook:
    • Click Settings > About ChromeOS > Check for updates.
    • Install any updates and restart.

Step 3: Add Printer

  1. On Chromebook:
    • Click Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
  2. Under Available Printers to Save, your HP DeskJet 4152e should appear.
  3. Click Save.

Step 4: Install HP Smart App (Optional)

  • For scanning and advanced features:
    • Go to HP Smart for Web or use the HP Smart Android app if your Chromebook supports the Play Store.

Step 5: Print a Test Page

  • Open a document or webpage → Ctrl + P → select your HP printer.

Troubleshooting

  • If the printer doesn’t show:
    • Ensure the Chromebook and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Restart both devices.
    • Disable VPN if active.
  • If still not detected, use HP Smart Setup via USB
    • Connect the printer to the Chromebook with a USB cable.
    • Go to Settings > Printing > Add Printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
