Connected to Wifi but no internet.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My notebook was working fine 3 days ago then suddenly on Wednesday morning I couldn't get any internet.

I called my internet provider and did the following to try and resolve.

             1. Turned modem off and back on.

             2. Disconnected and reconnected from network.

             3. Forgot network, found network and connected again.

There have been no software of hardware changes done.

I have another HP notebook and it's working fine.  Also, I have done the following to try and resolve after finding same problem in HP support back in 2018.

            1. Ran troubleshooter for windows apps.

            2. Ran the System File Checker.

            3. Didn't set up new account as I don't have any internet.

Not sure what to do now. Would appreciate any help.

Hi

If you try upto 3 pings it will help....

C:\>ping google.com
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

 

Then your gateway, which could be 192.169.0.1 or

C:\>ping 192.168.1.1
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

 

If either get a result then the 3 rd is redundant; ping 127.0.0.1

 

Please post the results.

Thanks for answer. My internet has decided to start again so I didn't need to do anything.

However I will keep your answer just in case this happens again.
