Connecting to 5G wireless network from my HP Pavilion

HP Recommended
hp pavilion - 15z-cw100 cto

I need to connect to my 5G network but my computer only shows 2G. I understand that I only have a single band wifi adapter. It is a Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n Pcle Adapter

Am I able to get a dual band adapter for this computer and if so, which one do I need? Thank you for your help!

Hi:

Since your notebook only has one antenna cable, you can only upgrade to this dual band wifi adapter...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

You can find this model on eBay.

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8723DE on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.

Here is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.
