Is there an Infrared Device category in the device manager? If not, then your PC does not have IR capability. Windows has settings for things that aren't included with the hardware. Bluetooth is an example.

there is not a option. But bluetooth , why did u take bluetooth as an eg i shared some files via bluetooth

I used Bluetooth as an example, because I see dozens of posts similar to yours that say there is a windows setting for Bluetooth and they can't connect to any Bluetooth devices.

Then I have to ask what model wifi adapter they have, and many HP notebooks used to come with wifi adapters that had no Bluetooth.

That is why I used that as an example.

Your notebook's wifi card is a combination wifi/Bluetooth adapter, which is why you have Bluetooth.

I haven't seen any infrared devices in any HP notebooks in years, so I am not the least bit surprised that there is no IR device category in your notebook's device manager.

ok i see but what about that picture

As I stated before...just because there are windows setting for the IR, there also needs to be IR hardware present.

No IR device manager category = no IR.
