I can no longer detect 5_G wifi networks since Windows sent updates.  What setting do I need to change to see all networks?

The specs of your machine is

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04507271

With  1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN adpter (it actually is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bgn Wi-Fi adapter) it won't see 5GHz networks. Its specs

    https://www.realtek.com/en/products/communications-network-ics/item/rtl8188ee

which clearly says: "The Realtek RTL8188EE is an 802.11bgn 2.4G single-chip that integrates Wireless LAN (WLAN) and a network PCIe interface controller".

Are you sure it could see 5GHz before, can you prove this ?

Regards.
