Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Thank you for reading this post,

I have a HP Elitebook 840 G1(Core i5 4200U) with Qualcomm Atheros AR5B93 Wireless  & Intel I218-LM Lan. My OS is Windows 10 and I don't see Bluetooth connection. There is no sign of Bluetooth in Device Manager as well. So I don't know it have Bluetooth or not? 😞

Thank you very much!

Hoc Nguyen from Vietnam.

The Qualcomm Atheros AR5B93 Wireless adapter  does not have Bluetooth component:

   https://www.amazon.com/Atheros-AR5B93-Wireless-300Mpbs-802-11b/dp/B00CY9LR66

Therefore your machine does not have Bluetooth.

Your machine was built around 2013 therefore upgrading wireless card is very hard. Please try 1 of the following cards

  • Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac (2x2) WiFi + BT 4.0 combo
  • Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260AN 802.11 a/b/g/n (2x2) WiFi + BT 4.0 combo
  • Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260NB 802.11 a/b/g/n (2x2) WiFi

But the safest way to do is using USB-Bluetooth adapter/dongle, for example

There are many brands and models around, cheaper too.

I know some shops in VN sell those devices.
